First Snow

On October 10th we had our first snow of the year, a little earlier than usual. It was gorgeous but it has been followed by abnormally warm weather, that's Reno for you.

Beer Tasting

The weekend of October 3-5, Brett and I were in Las Vegas visiting family. It was an amazing weekend, and we ended it at the Yard House in Town Square before heading to the airport. The sampler was amazing, the staff was so knowledgeable, they have over 100 beers on tap and the Draft Beer Float was well it was ice cream and beer, who could ask for more.

Lindsay and Her Pups

This afternoon, I met up with Lindsay and her two pups, Shiloh and Tito. I was introduced to Lindsay through my sister and find Lindsay to be hilarious and to have a gorgeous smile. It was so great meeting up with her at the park by both of us and taking some photos for her new house.

Thursday

50mm f/1.4 AF

So this is my third lens and I am absolutely in love with it, another great suggestion from a photographer I can only aspire to be half as good as, Colleen Sherman.

Maggie loves being a model.

Here's one of Sammy, as you can tell he doesn't like to pose for me.

Dawn Patrol a.k.a. Glow Show

September 6, 2007

On Saturday, we got up so early that the dogs weren't even quite sure what to do and drove up to Rancho San Rafael for the 27th Annual Great Reno Balloon Race. It was a great opportunity to use the new lens and well really throw off our sleeping schedule for the rest of the weekend.

Fisheye

September 15, 2008
On the suggestion of an amazing photographer, Colleen, (she's the real deal and a fellow Nikon user and very, very helpful) I looked into a fisheye lens. Since there is only one real option, again learned this from Colleen, I went with the Nikon 10.5mm AF DX. I just got the lens about 20 minutes ago and immediately ran outside and thankfully I always have models on hand, took some shots of the pups. These aren't the best pictures and obviously I still have a TON to learn but look how funny it makes my pups look.

This one is a little more wide angle than fisheye (still not sure how any of this happens-yet) but I included it because how often do you get a picture where both of the dogs have their tongues out, oh and the color of the sky-gorgeous!

I am heading to the Great Reno Balloon Races tomorrow morning where I think the fisheye will come in very handy. You'll just have to come back and see for yourself.

Aidan

August 17, 2008

The Sei Family is finishing their backyard and needed help laying sod, so we headed over to help which involved Brett laying sod and me taking photos of Aidan.

I had such a blast chasing Aidan around taking photos and to be honest I think capturing these moments are what really make a great photo.
